Mobile phones have revolutionised the way that we all live. Since you can receive calls wherever you are, you no longer have to stay in your office all day waiting for an important call, or at home waiting for the Gas Board to call you back. You can surf on the go, internet shop on the go, play games on the go, read on the go…send emails…the list goes on.
Mobile phones have made communication more convenient and simpler than ever before. Nowadays, parents even consider getting a mobile phone with GPS tracker for their kids who go to school; making it easier for them to keep a track on their whereabouts and call their kids if they can’t fetch them from school.
We all love our mobile devices, whether it’s an Apple iPhone, Blackberry, HTC, or Samsung, amongst others. They are super useful and I sometimes wonder what I would do without mine. But an increasing concern many people have are mobile phone problems and the cost of repairs. We all live busy lives and our phones can take a real hammering. Even if you are one of the more careful ones, a simple drop on the floor can see a smashed screen in seconds. Argh!
Mobile phone problems may require overwhelming phone repair procedures depending on the damage it incurs. But of course, some phone issues can be solved easily by doing simple procedures. It is often the case that people fear actually asking for help, tamper about themselves, and in some cases, actually cause more damage.
No Display: It is understandable to assume your phone may be broken if you don’t see the screen light up, but the truth is the primary issue is more than likely the display. The best way to diagnose this issue is to use a phone charger. Phones are designed to show an indicator once connected with a plugged charger. If you see an indicator displayed on screen once connected, it is likely the display is fine and the problem could be a hardware or software issue, just give us a call.
No Signal: Signal is the heart and soul of mobile phone communication. People often come in and see us where they experience being unable to call or receive messages even if their indicators state that they have network signals. On the rare occasion, some networks can have coverage problems, however, if you know that your network doesn’t have any problems, you can try to reset your phone by turning it off and removing the battery, then re-assembling. The problem is usually solved after turning the phone on, but if it persists, give us a call.
No Power: We get lots of consumers brining in mobile phones that simply won’t turn on. For this issue, we need to identify whether the phone is not turning on due to the power supply, a problem with a part or the motherboard, or if the screen display is broken.
Since mobile phones operate on batteries, you can test this problem by using an extra, known working battery. If the phone then works, the issue is the power supply; requiring a new battery.
But if nothing happens after using another battery, it’s possible to say that the problem is caused by the main power supply or motherboard. A part may have been damaged and would need repair procedures done by expert. Obviously with some phones you are unable to remove the battery, but pop in to your nearest Geek Squad store and they will know what to do.
